The think about comic book Gods

 

I'm not sure if there any comics fans here or not.  I have no where else to ask this question, so here it goes.  In a DC universe with the New Gods, Apokolips, and Darkseid, should the Greek Gods exist?  Would it make more sense for Wonder Woman, the Amazonas,  Themascara and the Greek Gods be something the New Gods or Apokolips sent to earth 5000 years ago?  

It makes me think how a comic book universe is created leaves a lot of room for these kinds of question.  If you were going to reboot the DC universe would you make this change?  Does the idea of these two different cosmologies existing in the same universe make sense?  Do we not change these things because the characters have histories and you don't want to get rid of those histories?  It is a tricky question.  This might be why Zack Snyder wanted to make Wonder Woman of Kryptonian decent 

Yeah I know I one of 10 people on the planet who thinks about these kinds of things.
