He's talking about movies not Comic Book Stories
I saw a video Super Powers in Story telling . Here is the important thing that I'm not sure he knows, he is talking about movies, not about storytelling. He says story telling, but he is just talking about the big screen. Invulnerable is a horrible power for movies and TV. It is hard to translate. There needs to be an off switch or a vulnerability. That is why Superman the Animated Series made him weak to electricity. But movies and TV shows are not the only place where you have superpower stories. I would say that comic books are the primary places these powers are used. They are not only plot devices but honest parts of the characters. This might be why Kitty Pryde is one of the best Xmen in the comics, but lackluster in the movies.
