Becoming my parents

Kate and I moved into a new apartment a few weeks ago and I have noticed how much my parents influenced my life. It is easier to see how much they had to do with the person I've become. There are lots of choices you need to make when you move. Often when making those choices you need to defend your ideas. Before I was married I never had to defend any of my choices.

Now that I look at these choices it is easy to see how my parents have impacted me. There are lots of ways I want the apartment organized that are directly related to the ways my parents organized things. I tell Kate all the time "I get that from Mom/Dad." Some of the times that makes her smile, and other times she rolls her eyes at me.
