News Coverage of Protests

I keep on seeing stories about teachers funding protests. None of the stories give the facts about what Schwarzenegger's education funding policies and how they changed from past policies. The stories assume that the readers already know this. In the end this does not sever the readers or either side in the argument.

I agree with the idea that none of the State tax amnesty funds should go to schools. That money is a one time windfall. If that money when to ongoing expenses like schools, we would be digging a hole for next year with not revenue source to fill it. It would be bad for the state government to give them the money not and figure out next year later. That is part of the problem that got us into our current budget mess.
