I am not a big fan of Albuquerque. I have come here about once a year for the last five years. Some of my trips have been okay, but I am not a desert kind of person. The dry air, altitude, and brightness tend to get to me. I often have a headache the whole time I am here. It is not the kind of place where I could live.
What I like about Albuquerque is that it is not like the places I am from. It does not look like San Jose, Philadelphia, Portland, or Lancaster. Every moment I am here, I know that I am not in one of my places. I like going places that are not like my places. If I am going to go, I do not want to be reminded of home. Albuquerque is not a place that reminds me of home.
