Do I call you Mr. Thomas
Since I have friends with three year olds, I have been thinking about how children address adults. Right now the kids call me Rich, just like their parents do. I do not have any issues with this. I am not someone who think that title equals respect.
When I was growing up I address almost all adults Mr. or Mrs. This was because my Mom and Dad called people Mr. and Mrs. in front of me. It was only their close friends by their first name. When they talked to me about these people they always called everyone Mr. or Mrs. When talking about my family Mom and Dad also would say "your Uncle Joe did blah blah." To this very day I am not comfortable calling my friend's parents by their first name.
