The End Is Extremely Fucking Nigh
Last week I went to see 28 Days Later. It is a modern zombie movie about people infected with some terrible virus. It is not a typical zombie movie. It brakes lots of the classic zombie rules. Lots of hard core zombie and horror people will not like this movie. It is not on the edge enough for them.
I really liked 28 Days Later. The real horror is not what is on the screen, but what you do not see. The idea of what happened in those 28 days is pretty bad. The idea that the infection comes from the blood. The fear that you might be come infected. The idea that you might have to kill the people you love if they become infected. That is the strength of this movie.
I also got to see the movie at a rowdy midnight showing. People were screaming at the screen and making wise cracks. It was the right movie for that.
The climax of this movie is great. It is a real payoff for everything else. Of course you find out that evil people are always worse then amoral zombies.
